Privacy Policy
Last updated: 21 April 2026
1. Who we are
Revival Ministries (“we”, “us”) operates a church management platform used by member churches. This policy explains how we handle your personal information under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
2. Information we collect
- Contact details: name, email, phone, physical address, date of birth.
- Family / household relationships you choose to record.
- Attendance, event registrations, giving, prayer requests, and pastoral care notes.
- Authentication metadata (sign-in timestamps, device, IP address).
3. How we use it
Your information is used solely to operate your church's ministry - communications, receipts, discipleship tracking, volunteer scheduling, pastoral follow-up, and statutory reporting (e.g. Section 18A tax certificates). We do not sell personal information.
4. Lawful basis
We process data with your consent, to carry out a contract (e.g. delivering a paid event), to comply with the law (tax records), or on the legitimate interest of pastoral ministry where you have voluntarily joined the church.
5. Sharing
We share data only with vetted processors strictly necessary to run the service (hosting, payment gateway iKhokha, messaging providers, email delivery). These processors are bound by contract to the same privacy standards.
6. Confidentiality of pastoral notes
Notes marked confidential on a pastoral case are visible only to the assigned pastor and the senior pastoral team. They are not shared with general admin or finance users.
7. Retention
Giving records are kept for 7 years (SARS requirement). Most other records are kept while you are part of the church, and for a reasonable period after, unless you request earlier deletion.
8. Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time. Email info@revival.org.za.
9. Changes
We may update this policy as the ministry evolves. Material changes will be announced in-app and by email.
